Accidental Damage Protection
Accidental Damage Protection is available to help cover the cost of accidental damage that may occur during your hire.
While small wear and tear can occur, you remain responsible for any loss or damage to a hired item exceeding the cost of $100 to repair. Accidental Damage Protection reduces your financial responsibility by providing up to $1,000 towards the cost of approved repairs or replacement where accidental damage occurs and the claim is accepted under this policy.
Damage Protection is available for $11.95 for garments with a rental price beneath $99, $14.95 for garments with a rental price between $100 to $199, and $19.95 for garments with a rental price of $200 or above.
What Is Covered
Subject to the terms of this policy, Accidental Damage Protection may cover accidental damage that occurs during your rental period, including:
- Staining that cannot be removed through professional cleaning
- Accidental tears or seam damage
- Broken zips resulting from normal use
- Damage to beading, embellishments or other decorative elements
- Other accidental damage approved following assessment
Each claim is assessed individually, taking into account the nature and circumstances of the damage.
What Is Not Covered
Accidental Damage Protection does not apply to damage or loss arising from negligence, misuse, intentional acts or circumstances where reasonable care has not been taken.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Lost or stolen items.
- Returns lost in transit where there is no evidence the parcel was lodged for return.
- Damage caused by excessive staining, reckless behaviour or avoidable misuse.
- Fake tan transfer or staining caused by wearing the garment before tan has fully developed and dried.
- Damage resulting from the use of fashion tape or adhesives other than Bodibond, which is the only adhesive approved for use on our garments.
- Damage caused by dragging garments on the ground or exposing them to conditions where avoidable damage is likely to occur.
- Snagging or tearing caused by heavily embellished handbags, jewellery or accessories.
- Alterations, repairs or modifications carried out without our prior approval.
Where damage results from a failure to exercise reasonable care, Accidental Damage Protection may not apply.
If Damage Occurs
If your garment is damaged during your hire, please return it as scheduled. In most cases, we will inspect the item and determine whether the damage is covered under this policy without requiring any further action from you.
If the damage is significant, we ask that you notify us before returning the item by emailing hiretohelp_@outlook.com with a brief description and photographs where possible.
Please do not attempt to clean, repair or alter the garment yourself. Professional assessment allows us to determine the most appropriate method of restoration and helps prevent further damage.
Repair & Replacement
Where a claim is accepted, we will arrange for the garment to be professionally repaired wherever possible.
If a repair is not commercially or practically viable, Accidental Damage Protection will contribute up to $1,000 towards the replacement cost of the item.
Where the replacement cost exceeds $1,000, you will be responsible only for the balance above the Damage Protection limit.
Our decision regarding whether an item can be repaired or requires replacement will be made acting reasonably after assessment by our team and, where appropriate, our professional repair partners.
